ONE of the world’s greatest acoustic guitarists, Gordon Giltrap will be performing at Hopelands Hall in Weobley on Saturday, September 15.
With more than 40 years in the business, Giltrap, one of rock’s sensations of the 1970s, will satisfy fans with his best-loved hits, as well as explaining the history of his many different guitars. Be prepared for beautiful compositions that cross all musical genres, wit, charm and unbelievable talent.
Giltrap is well-known for his collaborations with some of the world’s leading artists, including Cliff Richard and Brian May, who has said: “Gordon Giltrap is one of an elite few who truly have become legendary in their field in their own lifetime. I am proud to call him my friend.”
He is also known for his work for both the BBC and commercial television – Heartsong is still instantly recognizable as the theme from the BBC’s long-running Holiday programme.
He continues to compose and record new material – his latest album, Shining Morn, was released to critical acclaim in 2010.
