HEREFORD UNITED top-scorer Ryan Bowman is being courted by League Two’s York City, as the Bulls’ own financial worries continue.
The 6ft 2 striker has drawn interest from City boss Nigel Worthington, who told the York Press he would not be the only one chasing the 21-year-old’s signature.
“He’s a player we have got our eye on, but so have quite a few other clubs,” he said.
“He’s got good energy and has a presence with his size. He has an eye for a goal too.”
A move back up north would take Bowman – whose hit 19 league goals saw him selected for the England U23 C team – closer to home.
Having debuted for hometown club Carlisle, Bowman played for Darlington before heading to Edgar Street.
And it would see Bowman running out for a club which Bulls boss Martin Foyle – who is now tasked with forming a squad with just three players currently under contract – managed for two seasons.
