A MAN has been taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries after sustaining burns following a serious crash at Canon Pyon this morning.
Emergency services were called to the A4110, near the Nags Head pub, at around 6.55am.
Firefighters in breathing apparatus used two hose reels to extinguish the flames before a man was treated for burns.
He has been airlifted to Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham for further treatment.
It is understood that one vehicle, believed to be a Ford Fiesta, was involved in the crash.
The road is currently closed both ways and is expected to be shut for several hours.
