THE higher ground took more than a dusting of snow over the past week to bring about some beautiful images.
The experts' forecast for snow to arrive on lower ground last night may not have come true but fun could be had on Herefordshire's borders over the weekend.
The deepest snow fell, unsurprisingly, on the Black Mountains where children were joined by parents in sledging down Hay Bluff. And the county's eastern - and lower boundary - was not to be outdone.
Although a lot less snow fell on the Malverns, those living in Colwall, for example, could gather enough of the white stuff to at least make a snowman.
