WORMELOW residents are hoping that their unofficial 'war memorial' may eventually take on a more official status.
For the second year, Remembrance celebrations were held at a tree planted on the village's Millennium Green.
Despite wet weather, a party from Much Birch School and a number of visitors turned out for a ceremony led by Rev Mark Johnson.
"We hope that, in time, our tree will become to seen as the village's official war memorial because we do not currently have one," said Rosemary Rigby, who donated the Millennium Green to the village.
"It is in an ideal position and we are secure in the knowledge that the Millennium Green is safe for the future."
