CONCERTS for Craswall present the delightful young JASPA Brass Quintet on Saturday, March 5 in St Michael's Church, Michaelchurch Escley.
Rapidly making a name for themselves, the quintet is coming up from Cardiff to perform a programme of rousing music for trumpets, horn, trombone and tuba.
They’ll play music specially written for brass ensemble by Matthew Arnold, famous for his many film scores, including Bridge over the River Kwai and Whistle down the Wind; Jan Koetsier, a Dutch composer of popular music for brass; and the Welsh composer Gareth Wood. The Suite Americana by the South American jazz and classical trombonist Enrique Crespo, will bring the concert to a close, and surprises are promised along the way!
St Michael’s is just the right size for a brass quintet, offering the perfect acoustic for this exciting, mellow and flowing sound.
