POLICE closed a road near Hereford this evening.

Ambulances were also called to the road linking Bartestree and the White Stone Business Park.

People living near the scene reported seeing air ambulances flying overhead.

It is understood the road was closed, close to the Black Hole Lane junction, following a two-vehicle car accident at 6pm.

Police used Twitter to ask motorists to avoid the scene will rescue teams helped those involved.

It is understood the road is now back open but drivers have been urged to proceed with caution after showers brought about tricky driving conditions.
