THE Hereford Times' One in Eight appeal to raise money for a breast cancer support centre has been shortlisted for an award.
We ran the campaign between July and December last year and due to the tremendous support from readers raised £60,000 for The Haven in Hereford.
The money went towards paying for an extra nurse at the breast cancer support centre in St Owen Street.
Local Newspaper Week is an annual campaign to celebrate the unique and vital role local papers play in our democracy.
This year, the week starts on Monday, May 16 and is themed Making a Difference to showcase the best campaigning work of local papers across the UK.
The One in Eight appeal is one of 32 campaigns highlighted and next week there will be vote by the public to choose their favourite.
