A PUB has apologised to two women who suffered head injuries after a sign fell on them in stormy weather.
The two women were outside the Monument in Whitecross Road last Thursday (January 4) when the incident happened at 1.40pm.
An ambulance arrived to find both women had suffered minor head wounds but were conscious and breathing.
Both were taken to Hereford County Hospital for further checks.
A spokesperson for the Monument said: “Providing a safe environment is our top priority and we are very sorry for this isolated incident which happened during the recent stormy weather.
"We are working with the local environmental authority and we will take appropriate action to ensure this cannot happen again. We have contacted the guests and wish them a speedy recovery.”
