A CLIMBING centre which unexpectedly closed over the Christmas period will re-open under new ownership.

Green Spider Climbing has purchased the former Send building on Rotherwas industrial estate and aim to re-open the centre in between two and three weeks.

A statement on the Green Spider Climbing Facebook page said: “Just completed the purchase of what was The Send.

“It’s a great facility and we are really excited to be reopening in two to three weeks time. 

“There’s tons to do to get it all up and running again. A big budget for shiny new holds, to be set by some of the best setters in the country.

“Reworking the reception and cafe, with a La Spaziale coffee machine etc.”

Concerns were raised when the Send unexpectedly closed after residents had brought vouchers as Christmas presents.

However, the new owners say that all previous memberships and vouchers brought will be honoured.
