A MAN was taken to hospital following an assault in a street in Ross-on-Wye.
The ambulance service was called at 2.15am on Sunday to outside The Eagle Inn in Broad Street.
An ambulance spokeswoman said: "A patient had been assaulted and was unconscious. One ambulance and a community first responder attended.
"We conveyed a man in his 20s who had suffered a head injury. He had regained consciousness when we arrived on scene. He was taken to Hereford County Hospital."
Police said a man was physically assaulted by another man between 2am and 2:30am on March 11.
Detective Constable Trudi Burgess, said: “The victim was assaulted and is understandably shaken up by this incident. A 27-year-old man from Hereford has been arrested on suspicion of actual bodily harm and has been released on conditional bail.
“The victim has received a subdural bleed and facial injuries and is currently being treated in hospital. We're keen to talk to anybody who witnessed this incident."
