A MAN walking on his own through a Hereford park in the early hours of the morning was assaulted by a group.
A man in his 40s was walking through King George V Playing Fields on the path that leads to Hinton Road at around 3.20am on Sunday.
The police said it was reported that a group of men who were walking onto the park through the gates then assaulted him.
The victim suffered head injuries and chest injuries and was helped by a member of the public before being taken to hospital for further treatment.
A 17-year-old boy arrested on suspicion of assault in connection with the incident has been bailed until April while investigations continue.
Enquiries are ongoing but officers are keen to speak to anyone who was in the area, who witnessed the incident or who saw anyone acting suspiciously at the time.
