A TRACTOR was destroyed after it caught fire in a field near Ledbury.
Firefighters from Hereford and Worcester Fire and Rescue service were called to Bosbury shortly before 5.30pm on Thursday (April 9) to the blaze.
One of the challenges facing crews in attendance was the distance from the fire appliance to the burning tractor.
"The crews had to run out several lengths of hose to reach the vehicle that was approximately 200 metres away from the fire appliance," a spokesperson for Ledbury Fire Station said.
"We used an extended hosereel and four lengths of lay flat hose to reach the vehicle. We also had the Ledbury water carrier and a crew from Malvern Fire Station attend."
After tackling the blaze, the crews from Ledbury were back at the station in time for participate in the clap for our carers event.
"Once back at station we tidied our equipment and had to disinfect the fire appliance," they added.
"We then decided as we were on station to #ClapForCarers to show our appreciation.
"Once this was completed and the station was disinfected we returned home to our families."
