A KINGTON animal lover and his friends have had a bit of a ‘TO DO’ trying to raise awareness of prostate cancer.
Cult web blogger Tony Collier, whose smallholder site talesfromtherock.com gets around 5,000 hits a month, was joined by his brother-in-law Stuart Smith and colleagues Jim Smith and Sara Randall for a massive 178-mile walk dubbed The Offas Dyke Ordeal (or the Great TODO).
The self-titled challenge from Sara and Tony, who works at Phoenix Fostering in Leominster when not tending to his animals at home near Evenjobb, is especially poignant for his wife Tracey and Stuart, whose dad Derek is seriously ill with the disease.
Tony said: “We are all motivated, it’s the least we can do really.”
All reached the finish line in Prestatyn after leaving Chepstow six days beforehand, after selling as many of their 178 miles separately to sponsors at a cost of £10 each in a bid to raise £2500 for The Prostate Cancer Charity.
Anyone interested in buying a mile can still do so by sending payment online via PayPal to collier13@btinternet.com or by visiting www.talesfromtherock.com for more information.
Sponsors will then receive a confirmation text and see their name appear on the website, alongside a report of the walk itself.
