HARD-up Hereford United have been forced to make another "sale for survival" by selling midfielder Michael McIndoe to arch Nationwide Conference rivals Yeovil Town for £25,000.
"Without income from transfers we would go out of business, it's as simple as that," said Bulls' Director of Football Graham Turner today.
Twenty-one-year-old McIndoe is the second United player this year to leave Edgar Street following full-back Chris Lane's departure to Southport for £12,500.
Turner said: "Obviously we are sorry to lose McIndoe, but we have made it clear it would be unavoidable that we transfer players because of our financial situation.
"It's part and parcel of football trading. We have had to do it to keep the club alive for the last five years."
The deal has yet to be finalised, but McIndoe is all set to agree personal terms with Yeovil's boss Colin Addison, the former Bulls manager.
Hereford will receive an additional £5,000 if the table-topping Glovers clinch promotion to the Nationwide League Division Three at the end of the season, plus a 25 per cent share of any future deal
Yeovil beat off competition from fellow Conference side Boston to secure the services of McIndoe who joined United from Luton Town on a free transfer last summer.
He has been a virtual ever present this season, making 33 appearances for the club and scoring two goals.
