A YOUNG man left blind after being stabbed in the neck is hoping readers can help find his missing dog.

Jack Hewett, aged 22, has been left devastated after his white neutered Jack Russell, called Polo, disappeared near the Stoke Edith crossroads nearly three weeks ago.

Jack, who has had Polo since he was a puppy, is currently receiving treatment at Bristol’s Frenchay Hospital after being attacked outside Manhattan’s nightclub in Hereford last August.

The assault left him permanently blind and without movement in his right arm.

His mother Kathy Hewett went to visit him in Bristol and decided to stay a night with a friend in Bath so that it would be easier to return the next day.

She said: “It’s possible Polo went looking for me, although a friend was looking after him as he never went down to the main road.

“Jack is devastated by his loss as he was an affectionate dog who would sit on his lap.

He seemed to know that Jack had lost his sight.

“We are desperate to know what has happened to him and any news would be gratefully received.

“There is also a reward for his return.”

Volunteers from Animal Search UK have said that they are willing to give up their time free to help with the hunt and will knock on 250 doors in and around Stoke Edith.

Anyone with information can call them anonymously on 0800 4320 340, quoting 28617.

Meanwhile, Hannah Garnett is hoping that someone can find her missing dog Lola.

The minature Jack Russell bitch disappeared from her Fawley home three weeks ago and, despite being micropchipped and an extensive search being carried out, she has not been found.

Hannah said that she will offer a reward to anyone who finds her and can be contacted on 07979 541217.
