A NEW school for vocational studies could open in Herefordshire after plans were shored up by the Department for Education.
The location of the Robert Owen Vocational School is yet to be finalised, but those behind it say it should open its doors in September 2013.
The state-funded free school would be run by Leominster -based education charity the Robert Owen Group which was behind the 2008 bid to put a university campus in Herefordshire.
It will cater for youngsters aged 14 to 19 and promises to offer a “flexible and balanced programme of both general and vocational education for young people”, suggesting workbased training and vocational qualifications alongside maths, science and English GCSEs.
