THERE will soon be big changes at WH Smith in Hereford, with Toys R Us coming to the city centre shop in High Town.

No date has been announced as to when people can expect to see the toy retailer, but there is a poster in the shop window which says it is arriving soon.

It comes after WH Smith announced it would be extending its partnership with Toys R Us, with a further 30 'store-in-stores' by the end of this financial year.  

"This follows a successful launch last year and will provide customers in these locations with an improved toys and games offer," said a WH Smith spokesperson.

WH Smith already has a post office within its Hereford branch after 

Toys R Us returned to the British high street last year, with the retailer opening nine new shops within WH Smith branches., including ones in Cheltenham and Cwmbran.

At the time, WHSmith high street managing director, Sean Toal, said: "At WHSmith, we're always exploring new opportunities to launch exciting, new product ranges to our customers on the high street, and our partnership with Toys "R" Us certainly does this!

It was the first time that Toys R Us had been on the high street since 2018. The toy retailer filed for bankruptcy in 2017 and in March 2018 announced it would be closing all its UK shops.
