A YOUNG football fan enthused by watching England during the World Cup can't find a local football team to follow in the footsteps of his idols.
Riley Price-Walker, who turns 10 next month, lives in the Belmont area of Hereford and idolises England players Jordan Pickford, Jesse Lingard and Jamie Vardy after watching them on television.
However, his mother Carys says that despite trying to find a football club in the Hereford area for her son to join she has been unsuccessful and has asked the Hereford Times for help.
"We have applied to many clubs and the majority never replied or returned my calls, said Carys.
“If they did reply they had no space for his age or were too far away for us to travel.
“I’m single parent and don't drive so has been quite frustrating. He has a lot of energy, is a typical boy and loves football playing and watching it.
“He loves football and because has so much energy the sport is the best thing for him ever. His friends are in Toros and Belmont clubs but it appears his age group has no availability.”
Any teams with spaces available for Riley should contact the Hereford Times by emailing: bgo@herefordtimes.com.
Update: The Herefordshire FA have offered to help find Riley a team to play for.
