A HEREFORDSHIRE squad player captained England in his age category as they went unbeaten in the Home Internationals.

Tom Burton, of Hereford Squash Tennis and Racketball Centre, captained the England squash masters men’s over-65 team to victory in the Home Internationals held at Nottingham.

To qualify for the England team players had to finish the season ranked in the top seven places nationally. Ranking points are accumulated from entering four regional events and two national events, including the British Open.

England and Scotland both won their opening matches against Wales and Ireland to set up the title decider in the last match.

The England team performed really well to win all three matches 5-0 and so retained the trophy, Scotland were runners up.
