ONE of the brightest young stars in English football was born in Hereford.
Ipswich Town’s Connor Wickham has been compared with Manchester United’s Wayne Rooney and is being chased by some of the top clubs in England.
The highly-rated striker has been linked with a £6m summer move to Tottenham Hotspur.
Wickham’s Wikipedia page says he was born in Colchester, but Ipswich Town have confirmed the striker was, in fact, born in Hereford.
Wickham has represented England at under-16 and under-17 levels. He scored a hat-trick for England in a 4-0 UEFA Under-17 Championship win against Azerbaijan in Baku.
Wickham is certainly letting his feet do the talking and it will be interesting to watch the Hereford-born youngster’s progress.
