TERRY Jenkins will face Bradford’s Joe Cullen or Serbian Oliver Ferenc later this month in the first round of the Ladbrokes World Darts Championship.
Jenkins pipped Cullen 3-2 in the opening round of last year’s event and pocketed £50,000 as he reached the semifinals.
Jenkins also achieved his maiden televised 170-finish in his thrilling 5-4 quarter-final win over Wes Newton.
The Ledbury pitcher’s previous best run in the event had been his quarterfinal appearance at Purfleet in 2006/07.
The Herefordshire ace is the 10th seed for this year’s £1million tournament which kicks off at London’s Alexandra Palace on Thursday, December 15.
The first round will be played across seven days with the second round split either side of the Christmas break.
The final will take place on Monday, January 2.
Jenkins is still seeking his first televised title - he has been runner-up in seven major finals.
Jenkins’ run at last year’s World Championships: First round: Joe Cullen 3-2; Second round: Steve Brown 4-1; Third round: Mark Walsh 4- 0; Quarter-finals: Wes Newton 5-4; Semifinals: Gary Anderson 2-6.
