STUDENTS from Hereford Sixth Form College (HSFC) and Hereford Cathedral School (HCS) will be competing for the Apple Cup later this week.
The Apple Cup was launched with great success a few years back and is the highlight of the season for schools rugby in the county.
Last season’s fixture drew a crowd of around 1,000 spectators made up from ex-students, current students, staff, family, friends, and other rugby fans.
Last year the electrifying atmosphere peaked in the final stages with HCS scoring the match winning try, breaking HSFC hearts but sending their supporters into ecstasy.
Many of the teams know and play club rugby with each other but this is put to one side as the two teams throw everything they have at each other.
This year clash will take place on Wednesday, December 13, with a 6pm kick-off when Hereford Rugby Club will again host the Apple Cup.
A large crowd is expected so people are asked to arrive early and avoid missing any of the action, in what is expected to be a thriller down ay Wyeside.
