DID YOU WORK AT SANKEYS OF ROTHERWAS, HEREFORD IN THE 1960s and 1970s? Howard John Smith, known as "H" to his work-mates was a former engineer with Joseph Sankey & Sons Ltd of Rotherwas, Herefordshire. He worked with the company in the early to mid 1960s and returned to the firm, which by this time was known as GKN Sankey Ltd, for a further period in the early 1970s. Sadly Mr Smith died from mesothelioma, the asbestos related cancer, on 13th June 2007 aged 59.
