JOYNT James Passed away peacefully on 2nd January 2023, aged 83 years. Beloved husband of Maureen, a much loved Dad of James, Michael and the late Matthew, a dear Grandad to James, Brooke and Megan, and father in law to Jane and Lucy. He will be sadly missed. The funeral will take place at St Francis Xavier Church on Friday 3rd February 2023 at 3pm, followed by a private cremation. Family flowers only. Sign in to add a tributeSomehow or other Jimmy’s service details ended up in my Junk Email box and after I rang you in early January I thought you had perhaps decided for a quiet family occasion.
Anyway, I was in Hereford this morning and meeting up with a few of the guys and grilled to where I was. You can imagine how upset I was to have missed Jimmy’s service, but honestly not my fault.
Suffice to say he was typical of his era, quiet and unassuming soldier, and a very good karate student of mine when he was one of the DS on Training Wing.
I loved his dry sense of humour and he was highly respected amongst his colleagues. I hope that you family are coming to terms with the inevitable for us all. However , Jimmy will always leave a lasting print in my mind as a great soldier and human being.
