NEW BUS SERVICE - On November 23, the new bus service to Ledbury gets underway.
The service leaves Church Croft at 9.33am, Noverwood Drive at 9.34 and West End Stores at 9.36am, travels through Mordiford, Tarrington arriving at Ledbury at 10am.
There are two and half hours for shopping before the service leaves the Market House at 12.35pm, arriving in Fownhope around 1.05pm. The cost of a return fare is only £3.70, unless you have a bus pass which enables you to travel for free.
COMMUNITY LIBRARY - Fownhope’s community library in Faulkner House is now open on Saturday mornings from 10 till noon, and on Wednesday afternoons from 2pm till 4pm.
New acquisitions to add to the 4,000 items on the shelves include all the books shortlisted for the Man Booker prize, as well as J K Rowling’s much heralded new book and a range of fiction from Phillipa Gregory to Beryl Bainbridge and Alan Titchmarsh. Non-fiction includes Roy Hattersley’s biography of David Lloyd George, Simon Schama’s modern history and Gloucestershire look at local farm life. Art lovers should enjoy Brueghel and there’s a BBC guide to great symphonies.
There’s the new guide to the Wye Valley walk, plus some more laminated OS Explorer maps for Cornwall and Wales. A range of Fairtrade Christmas cards are on sale supplied by Ann Corby.
