PARISH COUNCIL - The parish council will meet in Stoke Lacy Village Hall at 7.30pm on Wednesday to confirm its 2013/14 precept requirements and to make plans for the distribution of money raised from the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee celebrations. A number of ideas have already been put forward but anyone with suggestions as to how the money can be used for the benefit of the local community is asked to contact the clerk, Alma Westwood, on 01885 490286 or at westwoodja@hotmail.com
WI - Much Cowarne WI will not be holding a formal meeting in January. Instead, on Friday, January 11, there will be a coffee morning and bring-and-buy at Stoke Lacy Village Hall from 10am until noon. Members of other WIs are welcome to take part.
BURNS NIGHT - The village hall committee is holding a traditional Burns Night supper in the village hall on January 25. Tickets, costing £8 and including a two-course meal, a piper and other entertainments, are available from Janet on 01885 400601. Bring your own alcoholic drink.
