I WAS very sad to hear that HMV had gone into administration, even though I was not surprised.
With the rise in the popularly of online buying, it was inevitable that sales in chains like HMV would continue to plummet.
I usually buy CDs and DVDs from Amazon or Play, which is a shame as I used to always get them via the High Street.
It seems only like yesterday that Hereford was had many music stores like Andys Records and Our Price, while Woolworths and John Menzies also held a good stock.
I used to spend ages in those stores choosing which CD or DVD to buy (in in the early years cassette and video).
But people's spending habits are much different today.
It is so easy to buy something over the internet that you don't need to venture into the city centre, especially as it is often cheaper to order online.
So many people have also got a smart phone or a tablet that they can download a film within minutes, while a song on iTunes costs next to nothing.
However, I am old school in that I like to own a CD or a DVD in its physical form.
I also like the sleeves that come with them, plus I like seeing CDs and DVDs all piled up, even if it can look untidy at times.
But what about you?
Do you still go into the high street or now buy your music and films online?
