FLICKS IN THE STICKS - Presents Skyfall (12A) tomorrow (Friday) at 7.30pm in the Cedar Hall. Adults £4, children £2.
THE INVADERS ARE COMING - Following the success of the Save Our Pub play at the Crown Inn, Dilwyn Amateur Dramatic Association, has come up with a sequel, The Invaders, to be held at the pub on March 27 and 38, starting at 7.30pm. Written by Dilwynner Tony Hobbs, the play will feature a local cast of actors.
Gladys, whose role has been reprised, is still looking for a job and eventually ends up as the health and safety person for the newly formed Emergency Plans Committee, three members of which are trying to hold a meeting at the Crown. Then the doors swing open and the invaders swoop in – something definitely not in the plan. What follows next is nail-biting, edge of the seat stuff so people of a nervous disposition should beware. The evening’s entertainment will include a hot meal and a raffle. Proceeds from the raffle will go to Dilwyn Playgroup. Landlords Gayna and John have denied any association with The Invaders and have only given over their premises for the two evenings at raygun-point.
Tickets, priced £8 including food, are available from the Crown 01544 318063.
BINGO - Dilwyn Young Farmers’ Club is holding an easter bingo in the Cedar Hall on March 22. The doors will open at 6.45pm and eyes down at 7.30pm. Chocolates, Easter eggs, plants and many more excellent prizes to be won.
All proceeds from this event will go to charities including Birmingham Children’s Hospital and Midlands Air Ambulance.
