COFFEE MORNING - Next Thursday, March 28, at Fownhope memorial hall 10.30am-noon. Refreshments, raffle, cake and produce. Bottle and bric-a-brac stalls.
The event is to raise money for Anthony Nolan Trust in support of Sarah Coomer, much-loved practice nurse at Fownhope medical centre, who has recently undergone a bone marrow transplant.
The above charity is close to Sarah’s heart because she nursed Anthony Nolan before he died in 1978 aged seven after a similar transplant. Among the raffle prizes donated to date are meals for two at Bunch of Carrots, Butchers Arms, New Inn, Westons Cider (plus tour), vouchers and two tickets for film at Courtyard and for a Hereford United match, day passes to Holme Lacy House Hotel and Wye Leisure, vouchers for Pengethley and Wyevale garden centres, cut and finish at Peter Prosser Hairdressing, voucher for picture framing at Terrace Hall, champagne from Green Man and three cases cider from Westons, two tickets for a guided climb over the roof of the O2 Arena, and a £50 voucher valid for Yeomans Travel day trips and National Express tickets.
