CAFE Mozart, a period chamber music ensemble intent on entertaining, will be at The Courtyard on Thursday, April 18, with “a pretend radio play”
written by Derek McCulloch, ‘proprietor’ of the Cafe Mozart.
In the studio, Haydn, in dialogue with his interviewer, reminisces about his time in London, talking about a wide range of topics; social, personal and musical.
The interview is peppered with songs and instrumental music appropriate to the dialogue.
The ensemble includes Rogers Covey-Crump on tenor and keyboards as Haydn, Rachel Elliott as the soprano, Jenny Thomas on flute, Ilana Cravitz on violin and Ian Gammie on bass viol and guitar.
There will be music by the Earl of Abingdon, Atterbury, Blewitt, Dale, George Jenkins, Mozart, Purcell, Shield and Haydn himself.
With Derek McCulloch as radio presenter and Roger Judd as studio manager, Hereford Concert Society presents Cafe Mozart at The Courtyard at 7.30pm. To book, call the box office on 01432 340555
