IT’S time to let the stars of the county shine on a night to remember.

The Herefordshire Volunteer of the Year awards are back.

And the county company scaling the heights as one of the fastest growing in the country is going to get them there.

Herefordshire Voluntary Organisations Support service (HVOSS) has confirmed its own “Oscar” night is on again with awards presented by the Lord Lieutenant, Lady Darnley, at a gala dinner to be held at The Three Counties Hotel on June 10.

For a fifth time the event is being sponsored by Allpay with the company giving a special award to an individual who has made a lifetime contribution to volunteering.

Cargill, BOSS and Biddle Properties are back to provide prizes for the team, fund-raiser and sports categories. while Hereford Rotary Club and Ross Labels join to support specific community awards.

The nominations will be judged by an independent panel and the winners will be notified in the third week of May.

Allpay boss Tony Killeen told the Hereford Times the awards night was an event he and his company “truly believed” in.

“There are many volunteering stars in Herefordshire who deserve to be recognised and it will be a difficult task choosing the winners,” he said.

“It really is an honour to be involved with such inspirational people and we’re very excited to see our local stars shine in June.”

Download entry forms from hvoss.org.uk. Nominations must arrive by May 3.
