Hereford Cathedral's series of lunchtime piano recitals continues tomorrow (Friday) when Victor Lim, keyboard finalist in the 2012 BBC Young Musician of the Year competition, will play a selection of his favourite music.
“I’m really looking forward to my performance at Hereford Cathedral,” says Victor.
“Having been a student at Wells Cathedral School, I feel very much at home playing in churches and cathedrals.
“There is something spiritual and inspiring about the experience.”
The recital will take place in College Hall starting at 1.15pm and Victor will be playing the new Yamaha Grand piano which was generously donated to the cathedral by the Friends of Hereford Cathedral at the end of last year.
“Performing at the keyboard final of the Young Musician of the Year was a great experience,” says Victor, who would ultimately like to be a teacher.
“The level of excitement and nervousness was unlike any other competitions I had done before but I gained a lot from this.”
Admission to the recital is free with a retiring collection. For full details of all the services and events at the cathedral visit herefordcathedral.org or call 01432 374200.
