BUDDING pianist Manu Hasan has won the 2013 Hereford Police Male Choir’s Young Musicians bursary.
The 16-year-old from Fownhope beat nine other finalists to the £850 prize.
The Bishops student plans to spend the award on master-classes for aspiring composers in London and has mapped out a possible career as a professional pianist.
Alison Houlbrooke, musical director of the police choir, said: “We had the privilege to listen to some of the most talented young musicians in the region, but Manu’s performance, together with the clear career goals he has set for himself, were exceptional. He has a rare talent.”
The other county finalists were Amy Beddoes, Helena Dudhill, Sian Haines, Sandie Middleton, Sam Saunders and Jack Taylor.
