THE Rural Media Company and Herefordshire MIND are to develop a project aimed at challenging the stigma that surrounds mental health.
The two organisations would like to hear from anyone in the county over the age of 24 who has either had personal experience or been affected by someone coping with mental health issues.
“While rural communities are portrayed as being close knit and a source of support in times of need, this closeness can also make it more difficult to seek help,” said Adrian Wilcox, business development manager at Herefordshire MIND.
“People facing mental health challenges often experience discrimination and there is still stigma and misunderstanding surrounding conditions such as depression, anxiety, obsessive compulsive disorder and psychosis.”
