PEOPLE with depression are being encouraged to seek help and not to suffer in silence.
Depression is a common but potentially serious illness, but Alison Sedgewick-Taylor, of 2gether NHS Foundation Trust’s Let’s Talk service said there is help available.
She said: “Many of us feel sad or down from time to time, but depression is a medical condition that can have a major impact on daily life.
“When you are depressed, you may feel extreme sadness for a long time, and these feelings can be very debilitating.
“However, there are lots of sources of support and many ways in which people with depression can be helped to overcome their illness.”
