A KINGTON couple tied the knot in a less than conventional style.
Mark Jackson, 58, and Sandra Tremayne were married in Kington on Saturday at the Burton Hotel after first meeting in 2010.
But instead of having a traditional white wedding, the couple and their guests donned full steampunk attire – a Victorian style of dress resembling goth, which includes goggles, corsets and large top hats.
The couple, who have run gift store Bopsom and Son since last July, opened the shop in the morning before rushing off to get married.
“We have both been married before,” said Mark, “and didn’t want the traditional white dress and suit wedding, so we thought that steampunk would be fun and thankfully everyone went along with it.
“We knew getting married was the right thing to do. We hit it off immediately – our first date lasted for 12 hours.”
