A CLUB for women who mix shooting and cakes is coming to Herefordshire.
The award-winning Shotgun and Chelsea Bun Club will be coming to the county for a one-day introduction to clay shooting and cake next month.
The idea behind the club is to bring women together to try the Olympic sport, followed by a vintage tea party and cakes.
Club founder Victoria Knowles-Lacks, 29, from Worcestershire, said: “We’re so excited about holding an event in Herefordshire and we’ve had such a great response so far. It promises to be a fantastic event.
“Absolutely everyone is welcome to come along and try out this Olympic gold medal sport, and we guarantee you’ll hit some clays.”
So far 1,200 women from across the country have been able to try shooting with the club and demand has been so high that Ms Knowles-Lacks has tried to arrange an event in every county.
She said: “I think shooting has always been seen as elitist sport and a lot of people think it is so male dominated.
“We’re trying to change perceptions.”
The one-day event will be held at Oaker Wood, Kingsland near Leominster on May 26 at 10am.
The day costs £45, inclusive of 30 cartridges, 30 clays, gun hire, insurance, protective equipment and cake.
