LEDBURY have been handed a suspended points deduction after admitting a Rugby Football Union charge.
The Ross Road side’s Midlands Three West (South) game at Pinley was abandoned earlier this year by the referee with the visitors trailing 19-3.
It is believed Ledbury refused to continue playing amid allegations of violence during the game.
An RFU disciplinary panel ruled the result should stand and handed the Herefordshire side a suspended 15- point penalty which will be activated if the club are guilty of a similar offence in the next 12 months.
Both clubs admitted a charge of conduct prejudicial to the interests of the Union and game contrary to regulation 5.12 of the RFU.
Pinley received a 20-point penalty which will also be suspended until the end of next season. The clubs must pay £125 each in costs.
Ledbury chairman David Fotherby said: “We are very disappointed and waiting to receive confirmation of the decision in writing.”
