HEREFORDSHIRE Council is asking county residents to get on their bikes this weekend.
The council’s Choose How you Move team has organised a series of bike rides this spring and summer, and the next one is this Sunday (April 28).
The rides are led by a trained ride leader and will offer riders the opportunity to discover some of Hereford’s cycle paths and quiet roads, make new friends and improve fitness.
Councillor Powell, cabinet member for education and infrastructure, said: “These rides are a great way for people to polish up their cycling skills, find out about new routes and make new friends.
“As they are led by qualified trainers you can be confident whatever your level of skill. I'll be joining some of these rides and look forward to meeting fellow cyclists as we enjoy the Herefordshire cycle ways together.”
Rides for beginners, returners and families are taking place on Sundays at 10.30am and will continue through to September.
They will start and finish at the cabin, by the tennis courts on the Bishop's Meadow in Hereford and won’t take more than an hour to complete.
Those who would like to take part but do not own a bike can contact the council to borrow a bike.
