THE major fire that destroyed a building on the Rotherwas Industrial Estate last week was started 'accidently'.

Firefighters have now left the scene and fire investigation concluded that the fire at a warehouse at Bathgate Flooring on the Hereford estate started accidently on Wednesday (April 17). It was believed to have been caused by an electrical fault.

Crews managed to salvage some machinery from the site but 70 per cent of the building was damaged and there was extensive smoke damage in the office space.

Firefighters remained at the scene throughout the week and over the weekend damping down and left at around 3.30pm yesterday.
