THE county’s property market is looking good for 2013 – if one couple’s experience is anything to go by.
Tom and Angie Williams managed to sell their Moreton-on-Lugg house within two hours of placing the property on the market with estate agents Flint and Cook.
The couple switched agents earlier this year after failing to find the buyer needed to give them their dream move to Ewyas Harold.
And Tom was clearly glad that to have called upon the services of the King Street company – although he says the quick sale was also down to being “in the right place at the right time”.
“The estate agent came to the house at 12.30pm to measure up and take pictures, and heard about a couple in the area who were moving from Oxford and were looking for a place,” he added.
“He asked if they wanted to view the property, so at 1pm they did and soon after put in an offer.
“Hopefully this means the housing market is picking up a bit now.”
Lisa Taylor, a receptionist at Flint and Cook, said the sale was one of the quickest the company has seen.
She added: “It is very unusual - some houses sell in a day or two, but two hours is rare.
“It was just very lucky that we knew there was someone in the area at the time who would be interested.”
