AT Kings Equestrian centre in Bromyard, The Downs Malvern show-jumping team of Olivia Davies, Bertie Phillips, Sofia Cupper and Henry Queen entered the National Schools’ Eques-trian Association 1ft 9in and 2ft classes.
In the 1ft 9ins the team performed extremely well with all the riders going clear and setting challenging times for the riders from the other schools represented.
Bertie Phillips came second individually and the overall team prize was won by The Downs.
In the 2ft class the competition was much stronger with plenty of entries from other schools from as far as the south west and Oxfordshire. This did not hold the Downs back and the team yet again won, with Bertie Phillips coming third individually on his pocket rocket Ted.
Once again the victory was a result of all four riders completing faultless rounds.
Henry Queen later competed in the challenging 2ft 6ins class and rode his third clear round of the day.
Rider of the Team for The Downs was Sofia Cupper for riding Ella, whom she had never ridden before.
Being the highest placed team in the two classes, The Downs Malvern team has now qualified for the NSEA County Championship Class in October.
