A FORMER Hereford United footballer has been handed a 12 month prison sentence suspended for two years following a fight in Shrewsbury.
Lee Collins, aged 24, from Church Street, Crick, Northampton, pleaded guilty to assault occasioning actual bodily harm following the incident that happened last June.
Collins, who made 16 appearances on loan at Hereford during the 2007/08 season, was also ordered to pay £2,500 in compensation and do 150 hours community work.
The defender, who currently plays for Northampton Town, was also handed a late night curfew lasting 12 weeks.
