JOIN a Classic Conversation at St Andrew’s Church in Presteigne as international maestro, Carlo Rizzi is joined by acclaimed young pianist Benjamin Grosvenor, together with Sinfonia Cymru, to explore repertoire that has significance for them.
The distinguished pairing of Carlo Rizzi and Benjamin Grosvenor has led to a programme featuring a diverse selection of works including early mazurkas by Scriabin, Schumann’s Piano Concerto in A minor and Beethoven’s Symphony No 2.
British pianist Benjamin Grosvenor is internationally recognized for his electrifying performances and penetrating interpretations, and at just 20 years old, his career has already featured concerti with a number of the world’s finest orchestras, including performing with BBC Symphony Orchestra on the First Night of the 2011 BBC Proms to a soldout Royal Albert Hall.
Carlo Rizzi will be familiar to opera lovers the world over, having conducted in all the world’s major opera houses and concert halls as well as spending 13 years leading Welsh National Opera.
The mix of years of experience and expertise, a pianist hailed as the finest of a generation and beyond and the energy and vibrant playing of Sinfonia Cymru promises an unmissable concert.
