LITTER PICK - In April an organised litter pick involving 20 Bodenham residents collected an impressive selection of rubbish from around the parish in just two hours. The full tally included one full dustbin, three gas canisters, nine tyres, one pouffe, one bedside table, one printer, one large flowerpot, a few small slabs, four square metres of vinyl flooring, the bottom half of a blue water butt, 25 black bags of collected rubbish, two fly-tipped bags of rubbish and part of a car bumper. Special thanks go to Babs Mitcheson and to Jeff and Lyn Pollard who provided the soup and the rolls for the volunteers and to Amey Herefordshire for supplying the litter picking equipment and taking away all the rubbish so promptly afterwards.
PARISH MEETINGS - The next meeting of the parish council is at the earlier time of 7pm on Monday, at the Siward James Centre. It will be preceded by the annual parish meeting and the annual parish council meeting, which, in turn, will be followed by the monthly parish council meeting.
Any local groups or organisations are free to present a report on their activities to the parish meeting. It would be helpful if the parish clerk could be notified in advance. Copies of the agenda are placed in advance on parish noticeboards and on bodenhamparish.
org.uk. Anyone with concerns about local matters is invited to address councillors during the slot reserved for this purpose.
Alternatively, concerns can be raised in advance with parish clerk Chris Smith on 01568 797132 or by email to bodenhampcclerk @gmail.com BODENHAM LEISURE CLUB - The club will meet on Monday at 2.30pm in the parish hall and will be given a talk and slide presentation on Herefordshire archives by Rhys Griffiths. There will also be the normal sales table, raffle and light refreshments.
PUB QUIZ - On Sunday the Bodenham Spring Festival will conclude with a pub quiz at 7.30pm at the England’s Gate Inn.
