THE curtain will be coming down on the Welsh Border point-to-point season this Sunday with the grand finale at the Golden Valley meeting at Bredwardine.

Alistair Ralph, Ali Gallier- Pratt, Steve Flook and Patrick Hanley are all jostling for glory in the trainers’ championship.

The riverside course, which has been so significant in the history of the sport in this area, has attracted 130 entries for the seven races.

Bredwardine was always a happy hunting ground for Bill Bryan, who sent out countless winners from his nearby Kinnersley stable.

A booklet of memories about Bill has been produced by Anthony Williams, and will be sold at the Golden Valley meeting in aid of the Injured Jockeys Fund.

The flag will drop for the first race at 2pm and the course is on the B4352 between Hereford and Hay.

Meanwhile, Mid Wales and Border Counties Harness Racing hosted action at the all-weather track near Ammanford last Saturday.
