A COUNTY care provider has received a prestigious award which is only handed out to the top three per cent of companies in the UK.
Hereford MP Jesse Norman was given the honour of presenting Kemble Care with its Investors in People gold award.
Nurse manager Michelle Day, commenting on Kemble’s award, said: “Carers get regular top-ups to their extensive initial training, while managers have the opportunity to develop their own skills in specialist areas.
“And Kemble Care has presented its own training team, based on selected staff, who can supervise the training scheme companywide.”
Mr Norman also presented certificates to recently qualified trainers and mentors who look after newly joined staff and help train them.
* Meanwhile, Michelle and registered manager Annette Castro-Griffiths recently ran a “train the training”
moving and handling course.
“We wanted to be able to share best practice with other home care professionals,”
said Annette.
“By training 11 staff from a range of other care companies to become trainers themselves, we can make sure that we are all giving people the best possible care in their own homes.”
