BOWLING CLUB - The club chalked up a first away win of the season when it once again triumphed at near neighbours Kingsland, winning 82 shots to 78 in a thrilling finish. The visitors had two winning rinks – Tony Stokes skipping Phil Lynne, John Moses and Rachel Kruft-Welton to a 23-13 win and Phil Sharp who skipped Sheila Kruft, Joan Stokes and Martin Richards in a tight 20- 19 victory. On a beautiful evening Eardisland entertained Hereford BC for the first home match of the season. The club’s new buildings were put to the test and all agreed that tremendous improvements have been made. Members also agreed that the green had never bowled better at this time of year, thanks to all the work put in by greenkeeper Tony Stokes. The result also went Eardisland's way, with an excellent 78-72 score.
Eardisland won on three of the four rinks, with club captain Gill Williams, skipping the best rink, with team mates Wendy Powell, John Hill and Robin Williams.
Phil Sharp and Jonathan Farndon skipped the other two winning rinks.
