RED KITE CREDIT UNION - The union is now open at Choice Saddlery, Knighton. All previous members of the Marches Credit Union are welcome as well as new members who can find out about the savings and loan opportunities on offer.

MACMILLAN WALK - The annual Macmillan Cancer Support Walk will be held on Tuesday, starting from Knighton Hotel car park at 7pm. Sponsorship forms are now available in Spar, the library and Offa’s Dyke centre.

WHIST DRIVE - The last whist drive of the season, organised by the ladies of Knighton Bowling Club, saw June Williams coming first in the ladies section, with Shirley Moorhouse, second, Mary Grimes third and lowest Christine Price. Gents, first Lynda Hall, second Sue Sutton, third Robert Jones and lowest Mildred Shepherd. Raffle winners were Haydon Jones, Doreen Bowen, Scott Sharp and Mary Grimes. MC for the evening was Shirley Moorhouse, prizes were presented by Lynda Hall and Linda Parker thanked everyone for supporting them all season.

KNIGHTON TOWN SILVER BAND - The results of the 100 Club draw for May are: £15 Chris Branford, £10 Steve Owens, both from Knighton, and £5 Nicola Owens, Chepstow.

SINGING FOR FUN - The next session with Marion Rowlett will be at the church hall tomorrow (Friday) starting at 10.30am.

BRITISH LEGION COFFEE MORNING - Is being held at the church hall on Saturday, from 10am to noon. There will be a raffle with first prize of Sunday lunch for two at the Knighton Hotel. COFFEE MORNING - At a recent coffee morning in the church hall £180 was raised for St Edward’s Church. Raffle winners were Judith Dyke, Robert Reeves, Hazel Edwards and Peggy Sexton.

The competition to name the cat was won by Pauline Parker.

HEYOPE LADIES GUILD - The next meeting is at Knucklas Community Hall on Tuesday at 7.30pm. Rob Taylor will be showing slides of gardens in India.
